What striking, brilliant red flowers these have with an other worldly look. They really are extraordinary plants and planted in big groups they really pack a punch, plus the scent from their leaves can be admired more. Speaking of leaves, they have a lovely pink tinge to them, which provide a great backdrop to the bright red flowers which it produces en masse. Pollinator wise you can expect plenty of activity, with bees and butterflies very fond of them. If you want it to look at it’s best then make sure you add a good layer of organic material in the form of a mulch as it will help keep the moisture in and will go some way to preventing powdery mildew, which they can be prone to. That said, plants do look better in groups, so if you’re at all worried about unsightly mildew, then hid it behind another plant grouping, no one will notice, the butterflies and bees will be thankful and you’ll still have as many beautiful, dazzling flowers!
